In The Tipping Point, Malcom Gladwell talks about The Power of Context. An environment creates opportunity or introduces challenges, it helps you or it hinders you. A_SPACE is full of People, full of Possibilities. It’s not about four walls and a door, or about parking spaces, and you square feet. It’s about what You can do in the right context, with the right neighbours, and with powerful backing.

As Manila’s original coworking brand, the 2014 expansion now makes it the Philippines’ largest and most innovate place for smart people + amazing possibilities.

Not sure if we should love or hate StarSucks – they are everywhere, and they have power and wifi. But the wifi isn’t free, and the queues are often long, and the food ain’t exactly healthy, and why do they always serve every drink in a eco-unfriendly disposable cup? I think we’d prefer more indie cafés in the city, a move back to real mugs for a cup, a barista who doesn’t upsell at every visit, and decent food.

Pretty much the same as StarBucks, although the GB 3 does have a couple of computers you can use. Power sockets are often taken, and it’s no fun finding a great seat outside only to lose when you pack up to re-queue for a second cup.

“Seattle hasn’t always been the center of the coffee universe. In fact, we used to serve as much bad coffee as the rest of the country.

This began to change in the early ’70s, when our founder bought a secondhand peanut roaster and started roasting Arabica coffee at the Wet Whisker on Seattle’s Pier 70. His personal tastes in coffee were simple—he wanted it to be bold and full-flavored, but also smooth and mellow. So that’s how he roasted and blended his coffee—bold and smooth. After the coffee craze took off in Seattle, a local restaurant held a taste-off among the major roasters to crown “the best cup of coffee in Seattle.” Much to our delight, our coffee took first place. To celebrate the occasion, we changed our name to Seattle’s Best Coffee.

Today, good coffee is fashionable everywhere, but we still believe that our customers prefer Seattle’s Best Coffee because of its Uncommonly Smooth™ taste.”

The good thing about CBTL is that it’s familiar. You know what’s inside, they can afford to rent at decent locations. Yup. Easy choice for a sit down and chat or work. The wifi isn’t free unless you have one of their loyalty cards, and although their food is a bit better than StarSucks, they charge extra for a lower-sugar drink… which kinda makes me wonder if they think we are idiots.

“In 1963 Herbert B. Hyman started The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf®. His dedication to finding and serving the best coffee and tea in the world made him the founding father of gourmet coffee in California.

Now, nearly fifty years later, The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf® has grown into one of the largest privately-owned, family-run coffee and tea companies in the world. Along the way, The Coffee Bean, as we are affectionately known, has become the model for a successful coffee and tea company.

Since 1963, we have continued to search the earth for only the finest and rarest loose-leaf teas and premium coffees. Today, we proudly offer over 20 varieties of coffee and another 20 varieties of tea. Over the years, we have worked hard to build relationships with individual farms and estates so that we can be assured of the best coffee and tea harvests available.

More importantly, The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf® is proud to harvest the smiles of you, our Customers, day after day with masterful beverage innovations, hand-crafted to perfection in our soothing and welcoming establishments. From California to the rest of the world, we deliver classic favorites and whip up personal indulgences the best way we know how to provide you with only most discerning specialty coffee and tea experience. “

Cute coworking space in QC, with a pagoda in the garden :) Very student friendly too with probably the lowest rates in the city.

Interesting space with much of the furniture made from those wooden pallets you see at a warehouse. The location is a bit out of the way for the best transport links and amenities, but for a small team looking for a quirky co-working home, it’s worth a look.

Hipster-friendly co.lab have a cute and cool space in Ortigas, with just enough space to cowork and meet up. They have a fun series of events that are great for local start-ups and dreamers, plus the network can be useful for those just starting out. Flexible prices too although definitely not as good value as 47 East, but way better than camping at Starbucks everyday.
